Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Dental Program
If you’re a veteran or the partner of one, and you hold a DVA Gold or White Card, you may be eligible for dental care funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.
This includes routine preventive care as well as more complex treatment options. Covered services typically include:
- General check-ups and cleans
- Fillings, dentures, and crowns
- No out-of-pocket costs for approved services
- Full coverage for accepted service-related conditions (White Card holders)
In most cases, eligible treatments are fully covered with no out-of-pocket costs. Some high-cost items may require prior approval, but we’re happy to guide you through that process.

WA Government Subsidised Dental Services
Pensioners who hold a valid Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card may be eligible for low-cost dental treatment through WA’s public dental system, known as Dental Health Services (DHS).
- General and emergency dental care
- Dentures and preventive treatments
- Public dental clinics or referrals to participating private clinics
Patients are generally placed on a waiting list for treatment at public clinics. However, if you live in the Perth metropolitan area and face delays, you can ask DHS whether you’re eligible for a referral to a participating private clinic. If you receive a referral, Spring Orchid Dental may be able to complete your treatment as part of that program.
Full Coverage for Ex-Prisoners of War
If you are a DVA-recognised ex-prisoner of war (POW), you are entitled to full dental treatment with no annual monetary limits. This includes all necessary preventive, restorative, and emergency care. Private Health Funds and Pensioner Discounts
Many seniors in Perth also have private health insurance with extras cover from funds such as HBF, nib, or Medibank. Depending on your policy, you may be entitled to:
