DENTAL IMPLANTS

Looking and feeling natural; dental implants can give you something to smile about.

WHAT IS A DENTAL IMPLANT AND HOW CAN IT BENEFIT ME?

Dental implants are essentially replacement tooth roots which provide a strong foundation for permanent or removable replacement teeth that can be made to match your smile.

Implants are a permanent solution that will mimic your natural teeth and provide a fully functional replacement for missing teeth.

REASONS TO CONSIDER IMPLANTS

  • Missing single tooth
  • Missing multiple teeth
  • Loose and uncomfortable dentures
  • Difficulty in chewing or speaking

BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

BENEFITS OF DENTAL IMPLANTS

– Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures.
– Restore or enhance facial tissues.
– Support a bridge or denture, making them more secure and comfortable.
– Restore a patient’s confident smile.

NOT AFFECTING ADJACENT TEETH
Replace one or more missing teeth without affecting adjacent teeth. Dental implants do not sacrifice adjacent teeth since neighbouring teeth are not employed to support an implant. Healthy teeth are left untouched!

IMPLANTS ARE FOR SINGLE OR MULTIPLE MISSING TEETH
Dental Implants are an excellent solution to replace single, multiple missing teeth or stabilisation of dentures for aesthetics and function.

CAN RESOLVE JOINT PAIN & BITE PROBLEMS
Resolve joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting into missing tooth space.
Restore chewing, speech, and digestion, dental implants will allow you to once again speak and eat with comfort and confidence. They are secure and will not click or wobble like removable dentures.

LOOK AND FUNCTION
Dental implants replace missing teeth and are designed to look like and function in a similar way to natural teeth without compromising any of the remaining teeth. Implants replace both the ‘root’ and the ‘crown’ of the tooth in positions similar to those teeth that have been lost. The jaw bone bonds with the implant, anchoring it to the bone.
The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!

STRONG AND DURABLE
Dental implants are very strong, stable, and durable and will last many years, but on occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.

HIGH SUCCESS RATE
The success rate for dental implants is highly predictable. They are considered an excellent option for tooth replacement.

IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Dental Implants have changed the world of dentistry. Let it change your life too. If you are suffering from loose, painful dentures, you have difficulty in chewing due to uncomfortable dentures or missing teeth; the Spring Orchid Dental team has the right answer for you.

HOW DENTAL IMPLANTS WORK

Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by a dentist or Periodontist – a specialist of the gums and supporting bone.

The implant supports a dental prosthesis such as a crown, bridge, denture, facial prosthesis or to act as an orthodontic anchor.
Implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances.

What does getting dental implants involve?

TIME AND VISITS
The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months. In more complicated cases, the process can take up to 12 months to integrate a successful treatment plan.

IMPLANT PLACEMENT SURGERY
X-rays and impressions (molds) are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. While the area is numb, the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate itself into the bone for up to six months.

POST PLACEMENT SURGERY
Depending on the type of implant, a second surgery may be required in order to place the “post” that will hold the artificial tooth in place. With other implants the post and anchor are already attached and placed at the same time.

FITTING ARTIFICIAL TEETH
After several weeks of healing the artificial teeth are made and fitted to the post portion of the anchor. Because several fittings may be required, this step may take one to two months to complete. After a healing period, the artificial teeth are securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient.

You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene, eating habits, and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new implant.

PAIN FREE DENTAL IMPLANTS
At Spring Orchid Dental, we offer you pain-free dental implants, which have the latest technology, best quality, and affordable prices.

SUCCESS RATE OF DENTAL IMPLANTS
Success or failure of implants depends on the health of the person receiving it, drugs which impact the chances of osseointegration and the health of the tissues in the mouth.
The amount of stress that will be put on the implant and fixture during normal function is also evaluated. But in general, implants have a high success rate and can be used to replace a single tooth, a few teeth or as an alternative to a full set of dentures.

IMPLANT RETAINED DENTURE
An implant retained denture is a fixed type of denture, meaning it is more stable. Dental implant restorations are so natural-looking and feeling that you will forget you ever lost a tooth!

FAQs

Do you do implants?
Yes. Our dental implant procedures can be used to replace a single tooth, several teeth, or to fabricate an implant-supported denture or bridge. Unlike a conventional crown or bridge, a dental implant replaces both the tooth and its root. It looks and feels natural, and it’s strong and durable.
The dental implant doesn’t rely on surrounding teeth for support, and no healthy tooth structure has to be lost in the process.

DOES INSURANCE COVER THE COST OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?
In general, dental implants are not covered by dental insurance at this time. Coverage under your medical plan may be possible, depending on the insurance plan and/or cause of tooth loss. Detailed questions about your individual needs and how they relate to insurance should be discussed with your dentist and insurance provider.
